Are We Watching the Signs of the End Times?

Scripture tells us "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." But what are "these things?" Could we actually be witnessing the events prior to the return of Jesus? Every generation has thought they would be the ones who would see the return of Jesus. But has any generation seen what we are seeing now?

Scriptures -
Matthew 24: 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
Matthew 24:10-14 And then many will fall away[a] and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
